MvVO Art Launches AD ART SHOW
Fashion and High Society

THE COLLECTOR, a line of luxurious designer handbags originating from Geneva, Switzerland, hosted an intimate champagne cocktail party for the launch of their latest collaboration with artist Bill Claps, the CODE COLLECTION, on October 10 at the Crosby Street Hotel.

Fashionistas and trendsetters sipped drinks as they admired the delightful collection, which was founded in 2014 by Sophie Bonvin. THE COLLECTOR produces quality handbags and accessories crafted from the finest exotic skins, including python, American alligator and South African ostrich. The interior of each bag is lined with lambskin and finished in hardware of gunmetal or plated gold.

Each bag is unique in structure and beautiful to the eye.

In addition to their signature line, THE COLLECTOR collaborates with an artist for a limited edition selection of unique handbags every two years; the most recent collaboration was with Laura Chaplin, granddaughter of legendary film star Charlie Chaplin. This year, the line is collaborating with artist Bill Claps, whose work reflects on communication in the digital age by utilizing the dots and dashes of Morse Code. For the CODE COLLECTION, Claps added the motif to some of the brand’s most stunning signature bags.

Proceeds from the event were donated to The Angelica Program, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of economically disadvantaged long-term care patients through programs including art and music therapy. Five percent of sales during the event, and 3.5 percent of sales throughout the month of October 2017, will be donated to the organization.
