New Yorkers are notorious for looking for the perfect Thanksgiving meal that they don’t have to cook. There is very little holiday joy in being in apartment with a stove making fire alarms go off, and having to create makeshift seating on sofas. Rather, there is fairly new restaurant in town that is creating a lovely buzz and will serve as your perfect solution.
Villanelle (15 E. 12th) is the latest sensation of Greenwich Village. Executive Chef Nick Licata and Executive Sous Chef Christian Grindrod are incredibly talented man with a vision that creates tastes and delights of sheer joy. Their patterns of design are intricate and sophisticated. From such amazing wonders as his delicious Macerated Brussels Sprouts with Cheddar, Cashews and Rye to superb Crispy Octopus with a hint of delicate fry and a perfect mix of Cauliflower, Green Curry and Mint – you cannot go wrong. The highlights of passionate cooking are found in every note. Sourcing from local markets and farms brings a level of freshness to the heartfelt effort.
On top of this, the staff and bar is truly wonderful. The warm embrace of the venue is like a beautiful hug when you come off the cold street. The class and sophistication equally is matched by a sensation of home and grace. Be soothed by the food, as well as sensational cocktails such as a house favorite called Smoke Show (Rye, Chai Tea Cordial and Montenegro). General Manager Erick Cabrera has gone above and beyond to provide phenomenal cocktail options that feature signature fall ingredients.
Knowing that there is a high quality here and topnotch service to match is even more reason to select Villanelle as a place to be for Thanksgiving.
