Anne Carrere Becomes An International Success With Piaf! The Show

Two years ago when I first heard Anne Carrere I predicted  in my www.t2conline column that she would become an international star. With her Carnegie Hall debut last Friday night in Piaf! The Show. Inspired by the award-winning movie La Vie en Rose, this tribute to the legendary French singer Edith Piaf, had Ms. Carrere retracing her life and history through her greatest hits. “La Vie en Rose” and “Hymne à l’amour,” were musical treats. This concert was also a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Piaf’s own legendary Carnegie Hall appearance.

My prediction came true with her sold out performance. This was a major triumph for Ms. Carrere. Supported by outstanding musicians: Phillippe Villa-piano, Guy Giuliano-Accordion,Laurent Sarrien-percussion, Daniel Fabricant-Double Bass, the night was a musical triumph. After singing “Non, Je ne Regrette Rien”(Michel Vaucaire/Charles Dumont) the audience jump to their feet and gave her one of the longest ovations I have ever witnessed. (See video)

Magda Katz has been in the entertainment world for most of her life as a child actress, assistant to the head publicist of Avco Embassy Pictures, theatrical print agent. She went on to manage the show business career of her 2 children for over 15 years. For the last five years Magda has been filming and editing video trailers of live performances as well as celebrity interviews. Broadway After Dark was the first website to feature her video trailers. She contributed in creating a star studded 90th birthday party for Mickey Rooney at Feinstein’s at the Regency Hotel.
