Art Comes to Times Square as Part of Spring Break

Art Comes to Times Square as Part of Spring Break

SPRING/BREAK Art Show is NYC’s curator-driven art fair during Armory Arts Week. With over 100 curatorial project, 150 curators and 400+ artists, SPRING/BREAK is a destination for art enthusiasts to experience contemporary art by established and emerging artists.

With free exhibition space to independent curators during an international arts week, new and emerging artists stand a chance at getting seen.

The art fair is a curated exhibiton around a central theme. The 2018 theme of SPRING/BREAK Art Show is STRANGER COMES TO TOWN.

This “classic binary storytelling trope,” reads a typically eccentric announcement calling for curatorial proposals, will serve as a cue to “consider foreignness and its heresies, the scale of migration and its effects on the artist practice, Otherness in the flip-flop of lionization and fear, and the narrative agents in formal practice that obliterate or confirm the Us and Them from the second half of the adage, ‘All great literature is one of two stories; a hero goes on a journey or a stranger comes to town.’

Head to 4 Times Square (entrance at 144 West 43rd Street), on March 6th from 5pm – 9pm for Opening night or March 7 – 12 from 11am – 6pm to catch this really fun event.
