Best Places To View The Fireworks Now That They’ve Been Moved

In late breaking news, Macy’s is cancelling its Fourth of July fireworks display near the Brooklyn Bridge. This year, fireworks will light up the sky above five barges on the East River between 24th and 41st streets. Battery Park, South Street Seaport are no longer prime locations. Macy’s made the move based on the size and scale of the pyrotechnics, along with the availability of appropriate public viewing areas and city resources,” stated a Macy’s official.

Your prime viewing spot will be at 42nd Street & FDR Drive, or you can head down a little farther to 34th Street & FDR. There’s also an awesome vantage point at 23rd Street & FDR Drive.

Murray Hill’s Salvation Taco has invited the public to join in on its Fourth of July event from 7 to 11 p.m. The taco spot will be offering a food and beverage special on its rooftop, and tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. General admission is $35. Reservations are encouraged.
