Close to the heart of New York City is a veggie lovers dream come true.

Beyond Sushi is known in town for being unique in concept, as well as delicious. And, with a new location opening there is only more praises to sing. The plant-based, health conscious eatery celebrates the flavors and beauty of seasonal fare with beautiful, wonderful vegetables.

Founded by renowned chef, Guy Vaknin and his wife Tali, Beyond Sushi offers an assortment of distinctive sushi rolls and other nutritional staples.  The restaurant has locations in Union Square, Chelsea Market and Midtown West with its newest outpost coming to Herald Square this May 10 and a fifth set to make its debut in the Financial District in June.

The newest location is stunning and full of fun. It was the thing that was lacking in the neighborhood when it came to vegetarian needs. Steps away from Times Square it is perfect for workers, tourists and those just in need of a great food fix. Chef Guy and his culinary team fuse unconventional pairings of fruit and vegetables with whole grains to create sushi rolls, rice paper wraps, hand rolls, salads, healthy sweets, and hand-pressed juices.


Some favorites include the Spicy Mang Roll with black rice, avocado, mango and English cucumber topped with spicy veggies; the Mighty Mushroom Roll with six-grain rice, enoki mushrooms, tofu and braised shitake topped with micro arugula; as well as Five Guy Dumplings with braised porcini, shitake, portabella mushrooms, tofu and spinach topped with micro arugula and tangy chili toasted panko. There is also a drinks menu that features a special Matcha Cocktail. Any dish you like is wonderful.

What is also great about this location is that you feel like you are walking in to a beautiful sit-down restaurant, but at the same time have the leisure of walking out with take-out. Staff is friendly and makes for a perfect lunch or dinner experience. The elements Atal Design Group incorporated at the 37th Street location highlight new interior colors including vibrant oranges and greens and have selected materials that complement multitudes of textures, shapes, hard and natural surfaces. Heavy industrial metal cages hang above the wraparound sushi bar and new drinking bar while ropes dipped in orange paint suspend from the walls at varying levels. The 2500 square foot venue can accommodate up to 72 guests and offer waiter service for dine in and delivery or take our made available with their website ordering platform and their app. The effect is to be greatly admired.
