Congratulations Shirley!

Liz Callaway at Helsinki Hudson

MY VIEW  Written by Stephen Sorokoff

Singer, pianist, voice teacher extraordinaire Shirley Callaway must be a very proud mother.   Two Tony- nominated daughters.   A few weeks ago Ann Hampton Callaway dazzled the sophisticated Helsinki on Broadway audience.  Last night Hudson fell in love with Liz Callaway.   Matching the clear night air of the Hudson Valley, Liz’s beautiful voice and flawless intonation floated effortlessly to every corner of the Club Helsinki.  I kept trying to figure out where she was taking a breath, her phrasing  was exquisite.  She must have had a great teacher to enhance her god given talent.

Liz also seems to have inherited the family wit & humor, so in addition to loving the music she makes you also love the personality.

Alex Rybeck on piano,  with his expansive harmonies and theatrical style, made it one of those magic music evenings.

Coming up next at Helsinki  –  Alan Cumming  with Lance Horne on Dec 2…..
