I am in love with Eau Good from Black+Blum at $24.95. This iconic award-winning filter water bottle makes water tase so good, you will easily give up soda and start drinking more H2O. The Eau Good uses active Binchotan charcoal, a 500-year-old water filtration method from Japan. By absorbing unwelcome impurities such as chlorine, the charcoal then releases minerals – calcium, iron etc. – back into your water. The charcoal has a six-month lifespan if used daily. The container is BPA free, easy to hold, unique, and allows you two cups of water.
Now on kickstarter is the sports and infuser version. I was given one to test and it now follows me everywhere. Same amazing qualities as the original but with a sports cap that makes it easy to carry with me. It’s also easy to infuse your bottle with fruits and vegetables. My favorites are cucumber and pineapple. By buying this version you will also be helping a company to grow.
35 billion plastic water bottles every year (source: Brita) end up in our oceans. Plastic in the ocean breaks down into such small segments that pieces of plastic from a one liter bottle could end up on every mile of beach throughout the world. At an average cost of $1.22 per gallon, consumers are spending 300 times the cost of tap water to drink bottled water. These sources are from 2013 so what are they now? “A glass from the tap and a glass from the bottle are virtually identical as far as their health and nutritional quality are concerned,” wrote Erin Brodwin and Anaele Pelisson. “In some cases, publicly-sourced tap may actually be safer since it is usually tested more frequently.”
Why not give your loved one a gift, that not only benefits them but also the environment and the worlds’s oceans?
