Tomorrow night the cast of CW’s award-winning musical dramedy “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and the “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” songwriters are bringing the show’s songs to life at The Town Hall. Rounding out a nearly monthlong tour, the CW drama stops by The Town Hall for a live concert experience that can only be described as “its own animal.” The tour, which sold out its entire run within minutes, kicked off on March 27 with a performance at Largo in Los Angeles, and makes ends in Covina, California, on April 11. Rachel Bloom, Donna Lynne Champlin, Pete Gardner, David Hull, Gabrielle Ruiz and others are each set to perform, though the talent and set list change with each stop.
Actress Donna Lynne Champlin, who plays Paula Proctor — the series’ mother/best friend figure to lead Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom) — says the live show that brings TV to stage has a “hybrid” vibe. It’s the first of its kind for a network TV comedy. It’s got a stand-up feel to it. It’s also a straight-up concert.”
Gabrielle Ruiz, who plays Valencia stated “It’s the cast performing songs from the show. While the actors won’t be in character, the show will contain elements of improvisation and comedy, as well as a peek at the cast’s natural, real-life chemistry. Fans are going to see the magic that goes on backstage.”
The show has been renewed for a fourth season.
