ESPN College GameDay Plans On Taking Over Times Square

ESPN College GameDay Plans On Taking Over Times Square

Thanks to ESPN “College GameDay” is coming to Times Square. “GameDay” will broadcast from their main set between 43rd and 44th street, parallel with 7th Avenue on September 23. It is the first time the pregame road show has come to the big apple. It’s the 81st location in 25 years for the show that visits mostly college campuses for the week’s big game.

That Saturday the big games include: No. 6 Washington at Colorado; No. 1 Alabama at Vanderbilt; No. 4 Penn State and Syracuse will visit No. 12 LSU.

ESPN States: “We will pay homage to that tradition, while embracing what makes college football great in New York in 2017 – the fans and alumni bases that gather each week to root on their team in a communal fashion which is most unique to college football.”

Syracuse is one of 12 Power Five schools that hasn’t hosted “Gameday.” The others: Wake Forest, Virginia, Maryland, Indiana, Rutgers, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa State, Cal, and Washington State.
