Hamilton: The Next Administration, united members of the current Broadway cast in a special satellite discussion with the cast of the Chicago company.
Mandy Gonzalez (Angelica Schuyler), Brandon Victor Dixon (Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (Eliza Hamilton), J. Quinton Johnson (Hercules Mulligan/James Madison), Seth Stewart (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Jordan Fisher (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton), Bryan Terrell Clark (George Washington), Michael Luwoye (Alexander Hamilton Alternate), and Taran Killam (King George III), Alysha Deslorieux were all there. As were Chicago cast members Chris Lee, Miguel Cervantes, Ari Afsar, and Jose Ramos. Javier Muñoz (Alexander Hamilton) was a no show. The moderator was moderator Mo Rocca.
Needless to say the fans packed the house.
Lawson, who plays Eliza Schuyler in the Broadway production, said that the most touching fan letter she’d received was from a 97-year-old woman. The older fan wrote her and said that Eliza was her inspiration in life. She’d lost her husband 50 years ago and has continued to do things in his memory and to preserve his legacy.
For Dixon, the best fan mail is baked goods. The cast recently received a mix of pies care of Jessie Mueller.
Gonzalez, who currently stars as Angelica Schuyler at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, announced that the Broadway production will increase the number of $10 front-row lottery tickets available. Beginning January 31, the online lottery will more than double, increasing the number of tickets on offer from 21 to 46. Theatregoers can enter the digital lottery by visiting lottery.broadwaydirect.com/show/hamilton. Those selected as winners have 60 minutes to purchase their tickets.
