Charlotte St. Martin and Tom Schumacher

Stars in the Alley, produced by The Broadway League and represented by Charlotte St. Martin and Tom Schumacher was a hit. The show was sponsored by United Airlines, celebrated the end of the 2017-2018 Broadway season, leading up to the 2018 Tony Awards on June 10, 2018. The event consists of performances from over 20 musicals, including shows from this past season, as well as numbers from current long-running shows, all accompanied by a 12-piece live orchestra.

Alex Newell, from Glee and Once On This Island, hosted this year’s free outdoor Stars in the Alley concert June 1 at 1 PM in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets.

Alex Boniello, currently starring as Connor Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen, served as a backstage correspondent, covering the event live on The Broadway League’s Twitter and Instagram.

The celebration started off with “On Broadway from Beautiful : The Carole King Musical. Sidney DuPont, Douglas Lyons, Paris Nix and Nicholas Ryan showed their moves. Upcoming Beautiful star Melissa Benoist, also orginally from Glee joined in the fun.

Joshua Henry stripped down “June is Busting Out All Over” and “If I Loved You” from Carousel.

The cast of Come From Away, featuring Chad Kimball and Jenn Collella showed they were still islanders in “Welcome to the Rock”.

Waitress’ Katharine McPhee showed why she is a star in “What Baking Can Do.”

 

From the hit show Dear Evan Hansen Will Rolland, Michael Lee Brown and Alex Boniello proved they were “Sincerely Me”.

Taylor Louderman and Kyle Selig in “Someone Gets Hurt” proved Mean Girls, defiantly is a sexy endeavor.

Getting to see Jeremy Davis from Frozen without his better half Olaf “In Summer” was fun.

Representing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Anthony Boyle and Jessie Fisher.

“Daddy Knows Best” from SpongeBob SquarePants brought out Jai’Len Christine Li Josey and Ray Norris to sing their hearts out.

Chicago, Cady Huffman

Tearing down the house with “When Your Good To Mama” from Chicago, Cady Huffman proved she’s a star.

The Jimmy Awards is how Kyle Selig from Mean Girls got noticed and he brought attention to the upcoming cermony.

Ava Bright, Levi Buksbazen, Gabrielle Greene, Jim Kaplan, Montgomery Lamb and Zachary Zwelling proved School of Rock The Musical, from proved talent has not age in “If Only You Would Listen”.

 

Haley Kilgore showed how “Waiting For Life” can get you a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical in Once On This Island.

Touting his show Saint Joan, it is obvious John Glover loves this production. he was joined on the red carpet with the wonderful Christy Altomare who gave a beautiful rendition of “in My Dreams’ from Anastasia

   

“A Whole New World” from brought Telly Leung and Arielle Jacobs to the stage.

Beth Malone was angelic representing Angels in America.

Ari’el Stachel from The Band’s Visit sang the jazzy “Haled’s Song of Love.”

“The Wizard and Me” from Wicked. was kicked out of the alley by Marland Torres.

From The Play That Goes Wrong, Alex Mendall and Preston Truman Boyd.

From Escape to Margaritaville, Andre Ward, Rema Webb, Mike Millan, Justin Mortelliti and Ryann Redmond singing “Volcano”.

Ben Crawford’s fabulous approach to “Music of The Night ” is why The Phantom of the Opera is still here.

Tyler Glenn is keeping Kinky Boots alive with “Soul of a Man.”

LaChanze, Ariana DeBose and Storm Lever and the cast of Summer: The Donna Summer Musical ended this amazing event with “Last Dance.
