Lorem Saved My Sanity and My Website

Lorem Saved My Sanity and My Website

website help

Finding someone who I can trust to work on our website, has proved nearly impossible. In the last 8 years in running the Times Square Chronicles or t2conline, we have been hacked 3 times. We hired a developer who gave our knowledge to another client. One who tired to steal ad revenue and the last built our site on a faulty foundation. In the course of this, we lost countless archival content. I’ve have been screwed over by people, I thought I could trust and it endangered my health.

Meanwhile, my website to-do list is always increasing. I can do a lot of it myself, but not everything. Some things are broken and needed fixing and I have no idea where the section is. The list became overwhelming  that I took time off and went to a WordPress Meetup in January, praying to find someone who could help me. When two young guys stood up and cheerily announced that they were “happy to help anyone here with any website problems they have,” I literally sprinted over to them ASAP.

Sam and Charlie

In the course of interacting with Sam and Charlie, they told me about their company, Lorem, which connects people like me with high-quality, trustworthy freelancers who can help solve the problems with your website, without leaving your home or office. They have a network of these amazing website helpers who each has to pass a series of tests to make sure that they are the best of the best and can be trusted.

After I was set up with Lorem, I pressed the “get help” button and 30 seconds later I was talking to someone on the other end named Ben. He patiently waited while I explained my problems, asked a few questions, then quoted me a price for each task, and started working. $10 to make my logo bigger, $40 to fix the problem that was hiding my header on mobile phones and $30 to make sure my advertisements sat 4 across and 2-by-2 on mobile. After he was done, he let me know and showed me his work. My site was finally fixed and my to-do list was empty. The grand total $80 for peace of mind.

A few days later, I pressed the help button again and this time I was connected to Sam himself. Surprise! He helped me submit my site to Google News, which I had had problems accomplishing. We had all the criteria considering we are a print newspaper, as well as an on-line site. With his help we were finally successful! Now all my articles get picked up quicker and show up at the top of Google search as a result. Our articles and reviews are also on the Google News Site. This took about 40 minutes and cost me $60, compared to years of trying to do this all by myself.

Finally I have peace of mind with my website. Lorem’s helpers are friendly, eager and ready to help whenever I need it and actually listen to what I want. I feel safe knowing that skilled professionals who are vetted by Lorem and that I only have to pay if I’m satisfied with their work. Now my weekly problems get solved instantly, rather than piling up and stressing me out.

Next up on my to-do list: seeing our traffic per story, so that I know how each one is performing and if we are giving our readers what they want. Thankfully I have Lorem on my side.

P.S. Some secrets are just to good to keep to ones self.  Lorem has been nice enough to offer T2C readers $20 in credit towards solving their first problem. Click here to get the credit! and know you are in good hands.
