Meet the Playwrights of Summerfest: Lorna Brown Believes in Creative Worshipping

Lorna Brown

Lorna Brown recently participated in the Writer’s Digest 86th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition in the “Inspirational Writing” category. She is a playwright, director, producer and choreography who specializes in plays, black light productions, sign language productions, liturgical dance, dramatic dance at her church. These productions happen during various departmental anniversaries such as the yearly Youth Department Convention as well as the Sunday School department yearly Easter and Christmas pageants. She recently submitted her first book (a book of plays, poems and choral speaking for churches) for publication entitled “Creative Worshipping.”

A member of NYC Playwrights group, NYC Playwrights Realm, Manhattan Repertory Theatre Playwright, The Writers and Actors Group (WAG), Screenwriting Workshop with Jacob Krueger, Cold Cut’s Live Script Read with Jacob Krueger, New York Writing Club, American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Group, Act Now Film/ Theatre Group for Artists & Black Professionals and NYC Filmmakers & Actors Collective.

Lorna has earned a BS in Psychology with a concentration in Creative Writing at the New School for Social Research, MS in Human Services and Counseling as well as a PhD studies in Human Behavior.Recently participated in the Writer’s Digest 86th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition in the “Inspirational Writing” category.

 

Her show How to find your way to God: A Musical was selected as a participant in the NY Summerfest 2017.

Off Broadway

Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret and theatre. She has performed at The New Orleans Jazz festival, The United Nations and Carnegie Hall. Currently she has a screenplay in the works, which she developed with her mentor and friend the late Arthur Herzog. She was the Broadway Informer on the all access cable TV Show “The New Yorkers,” soon to be “The Tourist Channel.” email: suzanna@t2conline.com
