Meet The Playwrights of WinterFest: Zack Aretakis Hopes to Bring People Out of The Darkness and Into the Light

Zack Aretakis is a composer, conductor, singer, and music educator from Long Island, New York. He holds degrees in music education and vocal performance from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is active as both a concert soloist and opera/theatrical singer as well as a highly respected and sought after music director/conductor and voice teacher. As a composer Mr. Aretakis is constantly creating new works and fine-tuning a blend of contemporary and neoclassical styles. His current major project is his first symphony, which will hopefully premier sometime in 2018. Mr. Aretakis can always be contacted for any of his many musical services at Zackaretakis@yahoo.com.

I’m a composer and conductor as well as theatrical performer. I’m always around the scores for musicals and had a desire to create one. When I had the avenue to have one performed, I finished an idea for a show I’d had for years.

“An aim in life is the only fortune worth finding”. For Jack Austin, it’s a calling for greatness. His music is contemporary and reverent; a release of deep sorrow that ignites a passion for life. But what happens when this young composer finds he’s sacrificing family, friends and love for an isolated life dedicated to the detail of his craft? Bright is the Ring of Words is a new musical for anyone who’s ever been lost in the darkness but felt destined for great light.

Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 West 26th St. January 30, 2018 @ 6:15pm, February 3, 2018 @ 8:30pm, February 4, 2018 @ 1pm – Sun.
