Second Annual White Truffle and Wine Festival Shines Bright at Ai Fiori

One of the most incredible nights for truffle lovers took place last week at the Second Annual White Truffle and Wine Festival.

The Altamarea Group honored the rare and revered ingredient in a grand celebration that left the food world applauding with great cheer.

Ai Fiori along with the wonderful Chef Michael White and the rest of the Altamarea Group team presented a series of White Truffle Events, November 10-12. The beautiful partnership with Urbani Truffles, Pruntto wines, and New York City’s official White Truffle Festival created a divine tasting of indulgence and decadence.

For the main event of the White Truffle Fest guests graced the splendid Ai Fiori, which was transformed into a Northern Italian street fair fantasy land. The classic Piemontese menu highlighted white truffles in ways that went beyond the imagination.

Expectations were met in a high standard as hundreds of guests tasted the delights. Culinary stations were filled with smiles and glorious samplings. Music filled the venue as passed canapés were tasted along with phenomenal wines of Antinori’s Prunotto label.

Chef White’s creations were stunning, as were selections from the culinary greats from Ai Fiori, Marea, Osteria Morini, and Ristorante Morini. From starters to the beautiful dessert creations there was so many magical moments.

The 2017 White Truffle Festival brings the world-famous celebration of the Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco di Alba to the US — marrying two of the most luxurious culinary exports of Piedmont: Alba white truffles and red wines.

For the special week, restaurants will be presented exclusive menus and dishes showcasing Alba white truffles from Urbani Truffles, paired with wines from Prunotto, including Barolo and Barbaresco, whose vines grow in the same areas where the white truffles are found. Specialty dishes were prepared and paired expertly with the Prunotto wines by prominent chefs and restaurateurs around the country.
