Sensible Socialite Spring Tribute to Blast Off Summer

Summer is almost here. This past few weeks things have been heating up all over the city getting ready for the blissful season.

Our favorite food expert and chef extraordinaire Danielle Alex has been busy working up some delicious dishes on site Diversity Kitchen. The trendsetting food goddess has been stirring up some perfect delights, such as Mexican Ancho Chicken and a wonderful Black Bean Dip. No wonder celebs to those who love to cook at home adore her.

Speaking of healthy options, New Yorkers are getting in shape at hotpot yoga center Laughing Lotus.

Spotted around town we saw Transformers: The Last Knight actor Josh Duhamel launching the “Be An Outsider” campaign in partnership with Claritin® and the Boys and Girls Club of America. The campaign is based on a new survey analysis by Columbia University that shows that Americans spend about 95% of their time inside (that is a staggering 346 days annually).  Let’s hope this summer we all follow in the campaign slogan and get out there for some fun in the sun.

Catherine Lowe and Trista Sutter of ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette fame celebrated National Honesty Day this Sunday April 30th by helping kick-off the #RefreshinglyHonest movement with Honest Tea on social media. These two former reality TV stars know a thing or two about wearing their hearts on their sleeves and will be celebrated the campaign brilliantly.

Hip hop artist D.Lyte launched his new video “Moscato” for the summer. We have a feeling a lot of hot girls and guys will be dancing it up and sipping it down.

Fashion is getting frilly fun too for the season for both men and women. Haggar Clothing Co. has easy solutions for all types beach adventures and upcoming days in the Hamptons with versatile options that won’t break the bank.

New Yorkers ushered in the long, hot summer days at Haven Rooftop, one of New York’s most expansive and bustling rooftops, in the heart of Times Square. On Wednesday, May 24th, in partnership with Grey Goose, the rooftop hosted Hello Summer with more than 100 A-list friends and influencers, including Dale Noelle, Dr. Christopher Calapai top cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Kenneth Mark, and dozens of models from True Model Management. Guests were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres such as tuna tartare and feta and watermelon skewers bites, inventive Grey Goose cocktails and music by DJ Annie Sollange.

The multi-level venue located atop the Sanctuary Hotel boasts three separate rooftops, offering guests the opportunity for intimate conversation or social networking. Whether you are looking for an after-work party or a weekend summer escape, Haven Rooftop offers the best of both worlds.  The main rooftop is open seven days a week and offers a variety of dining options including Sunday Brunch, Pre-Theater Prix Fixe and Monday-Friday Happy Hour from 4-7pm.

Other New York restaurants gearing up for hot summer days and nights include Brooklyn’s honeygrow with several healthy options. Also, check out STK Rooftop and STK Midtown Patio are not to be missed. Fresh off the heels of last year’s “frosé” frenzy, STK Midtown Patio and Rooftop are excited to unveil a new slushie cocktail for 2017 – the Frozen Mule. This ice cold version of everyone’s favorite beverage to come out of a copper mug will be available alongside the Frosé, which returns for a second season. Both are perfect for sipping while overlooking the Hudson River and Highline (Rooftop), or after work in the busy hustle and bustle of Midtown, steps away from Bryant Park.

And, coming up The Youth Takeover Project is hosting an amazing kickoff weekend celebration in Harlem on Saturday May 27th. The group honors kids and helps empower students to create healthy, high-achieving futures.

Jean Shafiroff, Jonathan McCann and the Southampton Animal Shelter our hosting the fourth annual “A Taste of Wine,” to support the shelter on Sunday May 28 between 5pm and 8pm at the Southampton Historical Museum.

New York Women in Film & Television, which has supported and empowered women in the entertainment industry for nearly 40 years, is thrilled to celebrate the women behind the scenes at this year’s New York Women in Film & Television Designing Women Awards Gala on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
