Sword Play In Times Square Leads to Arrest

Ronald Pearson 51-year-old from Brooklyn is behind bars after police say he swung a 3-foot long sword at people in Times Square. At 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning Pearsons allegedly threatening passersby with a 3-foot-long sword near 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue. he also wung the weapon at three police officers as they arrested him.

Thankfully no one was injured.

Police records show he has nine prior arrests, dating back to 1983. His most recent arrest was in Oct. 2016 for possession of a large combat knife. He has been charged with assault,  for punching someone in the face , burglary and possession of burglar’s tools in the past.

NYPD officers uncovered another sword and a spear on the suspect.
