In Cait Lang’s short one act play Our Last Ten Minutes, a women (Elissa Goonan) tells a man who she use to date, who is getting married how she really feels. This touching piece is at sometimes confusing, as the character is confused, but she is so relatable and much of what she says is something we have all been through. By the end we find ourselves wanting to know more and wanting to dance our own dance of being happy.
Elissa Goonan is a wonderful actress bringing layers to this role of a woman, who is trying to navigate life and who she is and needs. Ms. Goonan brings a naturalness to the piece and we can empathize.
Cait Lang is both a talented writer and director. I look forward to seeing a more completed piece, as she made me want to know more. There is a realness to her writing, which makes it relatable. I can defiantly see this piece being expanded into a full-length play and possibly a film script.
