2020 Arrives Early in Times Square

2020 Arrives Early in Times Square

The giant numbers that will ring in a brand new decade have arrived in Times Square. The numbers each measure seven-feet tall and, all together, will use a total of 309 energy efficient LED bulbs. After their stay in the plazas, the famous numerals will finish their journey to One Times Square to become part of the “2-0-2-0” sign that will light up at midnight on December 31. Visitors to Times Square can count down to the new year by getting their photo taken up close with the numerals from December 11–19.

Although the big event is weeks away, the organizers are ready to start the festivities.

Are you ready to shred your hopes and dreams? You can submit your wish for the new year to the Wishing Wall. Your wish will be included on the Wish Wall in Times Square and then turned into confetti to rain down when the clock strikes midnight on December 31. You can submit your wishes now at New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall.

Expect a lot of security this year. They have already started adding extra security!
