4 Unusual Ideas for a Night Out

4 Unusual Ideas for a Night Out

Pubs, clubs, and anything involving drinking and dancing are the usual suspects when we’re talking of ideas for a night out. Cinema or theatre come after that followed by a dinner with friends. But, getting out of your comfort zone and doing something new, something you haven’t done before might be an idea worth considering especially if you’re getting tired with the same old, same old.

If you have children, your opportunities for a night out tend to be limited, as you can no longer go out every night or every weekend night, you need to make the most of it.

A night out at the museum

Museum doesn’t really sound like a great night out option, but museums nowadays are not what they used to be a decade or two ago. A lot of museums organise night parties where you can enjoy the exhibitions and their contents while having a sip of your favourite cocktail. In fact, there might even be a DJ. Yes, technically sounds very similar to a night out at a club, but you still have the opportunity to learn something and you can tell everyone that you’ve been to the museum. That sounds a lot more sophisticated than a conventional night out.

Bingo night

Hold on, you might be inclined to say that you are not that old to play bingo. Bingo isn’t just for senior citizens now. Bingo has changed a lot lately, especially due to the rising popularity of online bingo.

Have a look at some of the best bingo sites and you will realise why many fans of conventional bingo switched to the online variant. Of course, the option to stay at home and play bingo on your laptop or smartphone is always available, but we wanted to point to another option.

Nowadays there are a lot of modern venues where you can participate in an exciting game that mixes bingo with another activity like dancing. In certain cities, like London, there are quite a few venues that organise unconventional bingo games. You can take part in a Hip-Hop bingo game, supper bingo and even bingo combined with a bottomless brunch event.

Escape Room

Escape rooms are becoming increasingly popular and a city cannot call itself neither big nor modern if it doesn’t feature at least one escape room. The themes may vary and the specific content of the escape room, but the basic concept is very simple, yet so enticing. Even if you’re not familiar with escape rooms and how they work, it shouldn’t be too difficult especially if you’re familiar with the theme of that particular escape room.

Trying to solve riddle after riddle, obstacle after obstacle, it’s like a board game but so much more fun. It’s interactive, you get to spend quality time with friends and family, a trip to the local escape room can be a valid excuse to get together with a group of friends you haven’t seen in a while.

Try out a restaurant that offers a distant, exotic cuisine

We often tend to go the same restaurants over and over again, be that Italian, Chinese or Indian. Yes, as a culture we’ve come a long way when it comes to getting used to foreign and unusual cuisine, but those cuisines and dishes that have been considered exotic and foreign are now quite mainstream.

There isn’t a large, or even a smaller city on the Western Hemisphere that doesn’t have at least a few Chinese restaurants. It doesn’t even have to be a specific cuisine, there might be a local restaurant offering fusion cuisine. If you’re unfamiliar with fusion cuisine, it is a combination of one or two national cuisines or styles of cooking. For example, Italian and Southern barbecue, or Mexican and Indian, and so on. Check out your area and see if there are any such restaurants.
