7 Tricks for Men to Maintain the Perfect Beard

Published

on

As a man, you will surely want to have the best hygiene and style. With no-shave November coming along, you’re already prepping on how to keep your beard looking amazing and perfect. Not only will this bring up your personal hygiene for comfort, but it will have you a hit with all your family, friends, and ladies out there!

But the question is: How can you ensure that you maintain a great-looking beard? It’s not as easy as it seems! Fortunately, there are various tricks and secrets not many people know about. So read on as I show you the seven tricks for men to maintain a perfect beard!

One shouldn’t only learn how to grow a beard but also know how to maintain it! Just because you already have handsome facial hair doesn’t mean you have to just let it sit and hope for the best. So these are some helpful tips to ensure that you keep your beard looking clean and attractive:

  1. Washing Your Beard

Washing your beard while you shower isn’t enough! It’s also recommended that you use the right hand natural beard shampoo, which would wipe off and prevent any excess buildup of sweat and oil.

While there’s no need to purchase a special beard wash, it’s best to use natural beard shampoo and wash with it twice or thrice a week. Lather and massage for a few minutes and rinse well with lukewarm water.

  1. Keep It Hydrated and Conditioned

The secret to keeping your beard soft and shiny isn’t just the right shampoo, but to keep it hydrated with the right conditioner. With that being said, you should use quality beard oil, made with natural ingredients and premium oil extracts. Another benefit to beard oil is that it also moisturizes the skin under your beard, which prevents itchiness and flakes!

Apply a few drops of beard oil and massage it once a day.

  1. Trim Your Beard and Neckline Properly

Just because you plan on growing your beard and keeping it that way doesn’t mean you’ll have to ignore trimming it every once in a while.

Every few weeks, I recommend tab you snip off uneven patches, as well as loose and split ends. Follow your face’s natural contour. When trimming your neckline, do this every two weeks. Don’t follow your natural jawline but start in your Adam’s Apple.

  1. Maintain Your Health

Did you know that taking care of the hair on your head and beard means you also have to maintain your health? This calls for eating healthier for thick and healthy hairs. Start eating your greens! It’s important to get a lot of B vitamins from supplements or food, such as lean meats, milk, and nuts!

Not only that but also sleeping well, getting enough exercise, and also limiting your vices, particularly alcohol, can help. Not only will your body thank you, but your hair as well!

  1. Remember Your Skin!

Beard maintenance also starts with skincare. A lot of men complain about itchiness and flakes around their beard area, which is why focusing on taking care of the skin underneath is a must. Ensure that your skin is clean by washing with hot water then rinsing it out with cold water. Afterwards, nourish your beard and skin with a balm barrier to keep everything nourished and moisturized.

  1. Comb Your Beard, Too

You have to “train” your beard to grow properly and in the right shape. Combing it won’t only “teach” it where to grow, but to also sculpt and shape it to however style you want it to be. Use a beard brush or comb to untangle your beard hair and have it grow a downward direction.

  1. Work On Your Mustache, Too!

You don’t only have facial hair on your beard, but your mustache area as well! To avoid looking silly, have it neat by trimming around the philtrum, which is under your nose. Use grooming scissors and sculpt it naturally with the help of a medium-hold wax to look great and maintain its shininess throughout the day.

Wrapping It Up

And there you have it! You don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars just to look great! As long as you follow the right tips and tricks, then you can have the attractive, clean beard with no itches but with all the compliments.

Hopefully, these tricks on how to maintain the perfect beard gave you an idea on what you should begin doing to keep your facial hair looking cool and fresh. So don’t wait any longer and look into any of these tips now!

Why Do Men Experience Balding More than Women?

Published

on

By

Hair loss is a widespread experience throughout the male population and if you have been experiencing hair loss yourself, you might be wondering why men tend to experience the issue on a much larger scale than women. Here you will find information about why men are more likely to lose their hair than women and what you can do to protect the hair you have or undo the effects of hair loss completely.

Women Do Lose Hair

Although men experience hair loss much more than women, this doesn’t mean that women don’t experience it at all. Certain conditions such as alopecia, dermatitis, or stress can cause hair loss in women, as well as aging, menopause, and medical treatments such as chemotherapy. Women also experience receding hairlines and thinning hair, just in different ways than men. Of course, it is still more common to see bald men than bald women.

Genetics

Many men go bald due to their genetic history. If a family member has passed on the gene for male pattern baldness, then a man is more likely to experience hair loss. This condition causes hair follicles to decrease in size eventually to the point where they can no longer produce hair. If you have no family members with male pattern baldness, this might simply be because the genetic sensitivity didn’t arise in them but was still passed down the line. This type of genetic condition doesn’t affect women in the same way since it is related to the hormone testosterone, which men have more of than women.

Hormonal Differences

Hormones are one of the main reasons that men experience hair loss more than women. The hormones that cause thinning hair in menopausal women are called androgens. Usually, these are balanced by estrogens but when these decrease during the menopause, the androgens can impact a woman’s hair growth. These androgens are also responsible for male baldness.

What Can You Do About Hair Loss?

If you are starting to notice signs of hair loss or have lost your hair and don’t enjoy being bald, there are plenty of solutions available to you. For thinning hair, there are temporary cosmetic methods of filling in the gaps and creating the impression of fullness. For more advanced hair loss, a visit to a London hair transplant clinic could help you find the answers you’re looking for. Eating healthily, staying fit, and reducing your stress levels can all help to slow down your hair loss. There are also ways of reducing the damage to your hair that might be contributing to thinning. For example, over-washing and harsh combing can tug at the follicles and cause premature hair loss. Being gentle with your hair can really help to prevent it from falling out or becoming thin.

There is nothing wrong with losing your hair. Male pattern baldness is an incredibly common condition, and many people embrace the new look and the low maintenance of it. However, if you are truly unhappy with your hair loss, there are always methods of restoring it.
