Akron Joudeh Played Sweeney Todd Before Being Shot Down

 Akron Joudeh

Akron Joudeh attacked off-duty detective with a meat cleaver around 5pm Thursday afternoon. Mr. Joudeh had been living in his car just outside Penn Station and Madison Square Gardenand and stupidly parked his car in the middle of the street. The car was booted and Mr Joudehhad been trying to pry the boot off. When he was approached he pulled out an 11-inch cleaver from his waistband and began running toward Sixth Avenue. An uniformed sergeant deployed a stun gun to no effect. Mr. Joudeh who appears to be Muslim is 32 years old and has had 15 prior arrests including one for carrying knives outside a synagogue on August 27th.

At least one officer was slashed in the face with the cleaver,  leaving a six-inch gash  before Mr. Joudeh was shot 18 times by uniformed police. Four other officers were taken to the hospital to be evaluated for trauma. Joudeh was shot dead when he refused to drop the knife and attacked the officers instead.
