Amazing Beaches: 5 Must-See Beaches in the U.S.

It is estimated that there are more than 95,000 miles of shoreline in the United States. That’s a lot of beaches to explore.

If you want to escape on a beach vacation, you know the drill – get all the necessities (know just what these are thanks to BeachRated) and then find your preferred destination. However, if you tend to always go to the same beach, and are ready to experience something new and different, then consider one of the must-see beach destinations listed here. You won’t be disappointed!

  1. Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Florida

Are you ready to venture to south Florida? If so, then Siesta Bach is a must-see location. Just about 30 minutes to the south of Sarasota, this beach is well-known for the quartz, sugar-fine white sand and amazing seashells.

If you are traveling with kids, then this is a great option, as it provides beautiful surroundings, has plenty of other activities to do nearby, and provides some of the best seashells in the entire state of Florida.

  1. Ka’anapali Beach in Lahaina, Hawaii

Found in the western portion of Maui, this is one of the most popular beach destinations in this region. Not only is it great for relaxing on the shore, but a hot spot for all types of water sports, too.

You may have heard of this beach due to the cliff diving ceremony that takes place each day. This occurs at Black Rock, called Puu Kekaa by the locals, and is the northernmost cliff in this area.

  1. Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California

If you are heading out to the west coast, then Santa Monica Beach should be on your must-see list. While soaking up the sun on the coast, you will have an amazing view of the mountains.

One of the things this area is most famous for is the fact that it has been featured in all sorts of television shows and movies. In addition to relaxing on the shore, you can enjoy the bike and walking paths, and venture into the nearby city to see some “stars.”

You can even add a bit of fun to your trip by visiting the Pacific Park amusement park, which is just a few miles away. This is another great beach destination for families with kids of all ages.

  1. Virginia Beach in Virginia

This beach is another family-friendly destination and experts agree that the best time to visit is between the months of May and September. This beach can be found at the most southern point and offers visitors miles and miles of sand.

An appealing feature of this particular beach is the amazing boardwalk, a well as the statue of King Neptune. There are plenty of activities going on too, including diving, surfing, walking, skating and biking. You won’t be bored when you visit Virginia Beach.

  1. Coligny Beach in Hilton Head, South Carolina

When it comes to Hilton Head, you likely think elegant houses and expensive hotels. While there’s some truth to this, it’s also home to some amazing beaches, with Coligny Beach being one. Not only can you enjoy the sand and surf here, but there’s also plenty of shopping nearby, along with onsite bathrooms (which is always a plus).

If you are planning a beach vacation, then you definitely have a tough decision ahead – after all, you have to choose one of these amazing destinations. Don’t worry, they are all amazing in their own way and you won’t be disappointed, regardless of which one you ultimately choose to travel to.
