International Women’s Day is in full swing today. Across the world both ladies and men are celebrating.
ASICS made their own powerful statement last night by hosting a fantastic event honoring the holiday and the launch of The New Strong launch.
Invited guests at the event toasted the movement as they gathered for an epic HIIT workout led by ASICS Studio Trainer Erin Bailey and DJ Saige. After sweating it out attendees enjoyed chair massages, hair braiding, and snacks by Pure Green, Nuun and RX Bars.
ASICS latest line THE NEW STRONG apparel collection is created by the women of ASICS and designed specifically for the modern woman. The collection supports all the ways a woman moves, from the gym to the street to traveling the world. THE NEW STRONG apparel collection features two fashion-forward capsules, Luxe Traveler and Moto Femme. The Luxe Traveler collection is a line that is both functional for a workout yet comfortable enough for a long flight…all while providing the wearer with confidence. The Moto Femme line was developed to celebrate the strength of women with eye catching pieces that are also built to perform life’s everyday tasks… from yoga class to grocery shopping.
“This collection fully embraces everything that women bring to the table,” said Queen Harrison, ASICS elite athlete. “I’m so proud to represent a brand that inspires women to find their inner strength and seize their moment.””We wanted to create a collection specifically for strong females,” said Mari Tibbetts, Director of Design – Apparel and Equipment at ASICS. “Our goal is for women to not only look good, but feel good while wearing THE NEW STRONG collection all day long.
Three ASICS elite athletes are featured in THE NEW STRONG campaign; Queen Harrison, track and field hurdler, Lane Carico, professional beach volleyball player and Emma Bates, long distance runner. The campaign highlights the three women in several environments from working out in an open warehouse to roaming the city streets – further demonstrating the versatility of the collection.
THE NEW STRONG Apparel Collection will be available starting March 8th at ASICS retail and online stores.
And, beginning today ASICS will team up with Right To Play, an organization founded with a goal of improving the lives of children in disadvantaged communities around the world, and encourage consumers to complete a virtual 10k for Good challenge. Participation in this activation will support Right To Play’s work to protect, educate and empower girls on a global level. For every challenge participant, ASICS will donate $1 to Right To Play. For every participant who completes the challenge by March 18th using the RUNKEEPER app, ASICS will donate $5 (up to a maximum total donation of $25,000). The funds will go directly to support Right To Play’s mission to empower girls through sport.
