Backpack Not Bomb Keeps Times Square Shut Down Sunday Night

Backpack Not Bomb Keeps Times Square Shut Down Sunday Night

Times Square

A tourist’s backpack caused a Times Square near West 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue to be closed down for a time.  The backpack was unattended bag in the area at about 10:30 p.m. but thanks to the NYPD Times Square was back open again to visitors on Sunday by 11 p.m.

This was the second time in four days Manhattan was  shut down because of a bomb scare. The first was a suspicious package outside the Israeli Consulate at East 42nd Street on Thursday.
