This weekend thousands of New Yorkers came out in the gorgeous weather to celebrate summer at the annual Bacon and Beer Classic.
For the new year attendees gathered to pig out and toast away the day in Brooklyn for the first time ever.
The sixth annual festival took place at Brooklyn Mirage on Saturday, June 8th. Layers of amazing beers were on tap in the maze-like building. Room to room was full of delight and scrumptious bites.
The open-air sanctuary hosted tastings as well as moments of great music on the stage, as well as a DJ booth.
Over 50 local restaurants served up bold bacon-inspired dishes and the best local breweries poured over 100 top craft beers over the course of two sessions.
“I love coming to this event. There is something about great food and drinks that means it is officially the start of summer,” said Queens resident Jack Garza.
In between amazing tastes ticket-holders additionally were able to play interactive games, pose in the photo booth, ride a mechanical bull, and participate in Hormel’s Bacon Eating Contest where the winner took home a year’s supply of their Black Label Bacon.
Here is to the start of a beautiful summer in the sun.
