
The Coffee Music Project returns to New York City for a fifth year this October. Applications are now open and will close on September 15th, 2019. Musicians can now apply here.
The Coffee Music Project is an international music competition showcasing the creativity and talents of emerging musicians whilstraising money for coffee growing communities all over the world. The competition celebrates diverse, authentic musical talent, providing a platform for self-made artists who believe they have what it takes to write and perform a winning song. Unlike reality TV talent competitions, thejudging panel is made up of a broad spectrum of music industry leaders from top songwriters to sync agents with prizes designed to help you kick start your career. All profits from the live shows will go directly to charity Project Waterfall; providing clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities. Make your music count!
Musicians at all levels can now apply online by submitting two YouTube video performances. The top 36 contestants will be selected to perform at the qualifying rounds, which will take place on October 6th-8th in the heart of the East Village at Pianos NYC. From the qualifying rounds, 9 contestants will be selected to perform at this year’s New York Coffee Festival on October 11th-13th, before competing in the finals at The Bowery Electric, on October 16th.
Jeffrey Young, Founder of The Coffee Music Project, shares, “The Coffee Music Project is an excellent opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their musical talents while supporting a great cause. For 2019, we’re inviting artists to write and perform an original song relating to the theme of their host city – we cannot wait to see the acts!”The winner of the competition will receive a number of prizes designed to kickstart their career in music. This includes $1,000 cash, $1,500 towards a trip to Los Angeles to perform at the LA Coffee Festival, a free studio recording session and more. All nine finalists will also receive guaranteed slots to perform at The New York Coffee Festival, along with having one song featured on The Coffee Music Project 2019/2020 album.
