Canada’s Oscar Salute Celebrates Nominees

Oscar Week is in full swing. The sun is shinning and the nominees have sparkling visions of gold in their eyes at a round of non-stop events in Hollywood.

At Canada’s Oscar Salute the celebration continued in grand style. The Consul General of Canada Mr. Zaib Shaikh hosted a lovely event that honored nominees including Alison Snowden (ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR, Animated Short), David Fine (ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR, Animated Short), Domee Shi (BAO, Animated Short), Jeremy Comte (FAUVE, Live Action Short), Marianne Farley (MARGUERITE, Live Action Short), Marie-Hélène Panisset (MARGUERITE, Live Action Short), Trevor Jimenz (WEEKENDS, Animated Short), plus guests including Melissa O’Neil and Shamier Anderson and Stephan James.

“I am super happy to be here. One thing that has been really incredible has been the support from Canada,” stated Marianne Farley on the red carpet. “I know no matter what happens on Sunday that the country is behind me.”

Taking place at the gorgeous Official Residence of Canada guests gathered poolside for lovely conversations with the Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, Christa Dickenson. Joyful toasts were had all before the 91st Annual Academy Awards this Sunday.

The friendly crowd enjoyed short rib sliders, portobello fries along with Short Stack specialty cocktails. Additional partners for the evening include Sheridan, Telefilm Canada and the National Film Board of Canada.

Happy Oscar Week.
