Chef Stars Come Together to enCourage Kids with a Night of Serving Up Smiles in New York City

Last night at Chelsea Piers, enCourage Kids Foundation hosted the Serving Up Smiles Tasting Event for the second year in a row. The fantastic event at CURRENT at Pier 59 was the place to be this week.

Chef Chris Nirschel, playfully known as the Culinary Bad Boy, was the Master of Ceremonies where his emcee skills made him a rather good old boy on this very special night to raise funds for those in need. The beautiful evening full of good vibes and delicious food helped bring awareness for the 275,000 children and families that enCourage Kids Foundation serves, supports and uplifts.

“We are incredibly excited and appreciative to have the enthusiasm of these amazing chefs and restaurants who are supportive of our mission,” said Michele Hall-Duncan, Executive Director, enCourage Kids Foundation.   img_4126Proceeds from the event will help kids facing health challenges to be carefree kids by creating environments and experiences that help them through each step of their medical journey.

Thirty-one years ago, enCourage Kids opened its doors and hearts to children battling chronic, serious, or life threatening illnesses and injuries. With their needs in mind, the group has developed unique, family-centered programs that use entertainment and technology to make hospital visits a little less frightening and have created exciting family outings that make everyday life a little more fun.

In attendance were NFL legends Tony Richardson and Christian Peter, Mike Puma, Shelly Rome, Sasha Cohen and more.

Amazing music was provided by Live Wire Entertainment, who provided the perfect background for guests as they sampled the city’s hottest chefs and sample signature dishes, delectable cocktails and delicious wines from an elite roster of restaurants.
