Dancing To Make Life Easier For Cancer Patients

dancing for the survivors

“When I’m dancing, I forget about everything…even cancer.”

Dancing With The Survivors®, the signature fundraising event of The Pink Fund, returns to New Jersey on October 15th, 2016 at The Beyer Ford Showroom. The fourth annual Dancing With The Survivors® event is an evening of dancing, music, cocktails, and delicious food to celebrate a nationwide community of breast cancer survivors who thrive in their recovery, and make a difference in the lives of other cancer patients.

The Dancing With The Survivors® event pairs local New Jersey breast cancer survivors with professionally trained dancers from Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Morristown, Upper Montclair and Montville. For 4 months, they meet on a weekly basis to learn and perfect a ballroom style dance that they will perform in front of an audience at The Beyer Ford Showroom. The event is sponsored by many local New Jersey businesses including Aviva Winter and The New York Giants. Amy Freeze, meteorologist at WABC-TV and Good Morning America will be emceeing this year’s event in support of The Pink Fund and Dancing With The Survivors.

The gala event raises money for local New Jersey women who are going through breast cancer treatment and find themselves struggling financially to keep their households running. While in active treatment, many patients are unable to work and experience a loss of income that can result in catastrophic financial losses and the need to rebuild financial health. The Pink Fund provides financial support to help meet basic needs, decrease stress levels and allow breast cancer patients to focus on healing while improving survivorship outcomes. The Pink Fund provides 90 day non-medical assistance to breast cancer patients in active treatment. With The Pink Fund’s “money raised here, stays here” policy, funds raised for the New Jersey event will be restricted to and distributed in New Jersey.
