Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young Star in New Musical Which Releases Album for FREE Download

American Idol finalists and real-life couple Diana DeGarmo and Ace Young have been working on the new musical Hit Her With the Skates. The show, which played a sold-out run at Hamilton Stage in New Jersey last spring, is billed as a mix of Grease, Hairspray, and Xanadu.

Hit Her With the Skates features book and lyrics by Christine Rea, music and lyrics by Rick Briskin, and direction by Michael Schiralli.

Hit Her With the Skates takes place in 1994 and follows pop/rock star Jaqueline Miller, who is returning to her hometown on the heels of her first national tour to kick off the re-opening of her beloved roller rink, Windy City Skates. When complications hit her head on, Jacqueline comes face-to-face with her 12-year-old self and all the things she learned during the golden age of skating: the ’70s.

Now the New York bound musical is available for streaming on all platforms including  iTunes, GooglePlay, Spotify, AmazonMusic, Pandora, YouTube Music and for FREE download on CD Baby.

“With every presentation of Hit Her With The Skates, from our intimate special performances to the fully staged production, what audiences consistently and universally respond to is the music. We’ve received a vast amount of requests to create and release an album; so we’re thrilled to finally be able to offer an EP with a handful of the songs to the public for FREE, as we gear up for a run in New York City.”  Hit Her With The Skates’ Creator & Producer, Christine Rea.

The album also features performances by Roy Bennett, Rick Briskin, Madeline Fansler, Christine Rea, Amy Toporek, and Sky Seals. Hit Her With the Skates  album is produced and arranged by Rick Briskin.

Available songs include: Skating Nation, A Simpler Time (Diana Degarmo), Could It Be (Amy Toporek), Believe (Ace Young & Diana DeGarmo), Shazizzle (Madeline Fansler), Crushin’ on You (Diana Degarmo & Ace Young), Forward Motion (Diana Degarmo & Amy Toporek), and You’re the One (Christine Rea & Rick Briskin).
