This is becoming a little to common and extremely dangerous as bands of motorcyclists, dirt bikers and quad riders brought Times Square to a halt. They performed street stunts and burnouts in front of bystanders who could have easily been hurt. Approximately 30 people were doing “donuts” and other tricks at Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street as people tried to cross the streets around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the situation got so out of control and that one biker was arrested for reckless endangerment. The biker tried to speed away, and police say he almost struck an officer. That rider Christian Ruiz, 22, was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and obstruction of governmental administration.
State Sen. Brad Hoylman, who represents the area, says he is considering introducing a bill to Senate that would ban illegal dirt bikes from wreaking havoc across the city.
The video you are seeing is from a month ago when the same problem occurred.
