Drobo and Photofocus Announce Their 1st annual World Photo Day, Impact Photo Contest

In honor of World Photo Day, on August 19thDrobo, the award-winning provider of storage solutions for businesses, professionals and consumers, is teaming with Photofocus, a premier voice and educator for aspiring and professional photographers, to launch the first annual World Photo Day, ‘Impact’ Photo Contest

From August 1st to August 15th, any photographer, novice to expert, may submit an impactful photo that “shares their world with the world” embodying the founding theme of the day’s celebration. Each submission will be reviewed by Photofocus Publisher, Rich Harrington; and world renowned photographers, Chamira YoungMichéle Grenier and Kevin Ames, and then two winners will be selected.

The grand prize winner will be awarded a Drobo 8D – the fastest Drobo yet, with Thunderbolt™ 3 speed, a Drobo 5N2, a Retrospect Backup Windows or Mac License, two Seagate HDDs, and a Sigma Lens (value up to $1,000).

The second prize winner will be awarded a Drobo 5D3 and a Retrospect License. Drobo and Retrospect together provide a complete data protection workflow for home or business. Three entrants per week will be featured on social media by Drobo.

The winners of the contest will be announced on Monday, August 19th, which marks the 9th annual World Photo Day (also known as World Photography Day and Photo Day). Now considered the world’s largest celebration of the art and science of photography, the annual celebration was created by Canberra, Australia photographer Korske Ara, and attracts the attention of about 500 million people across the globe. “When you ask most people what they would rescue in the event of a fire, after loved ones, most if not all will answer their photos. This instinct to rescue recorded memories says a great deal about the role photography plays in our lives. Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret and theatre.
