Finding Beauty Inside and Out with Alternative Healing

Finding Beauty Inside and Out with Alternative Healing

The stress of living in the city can be overwhelming. It can lead to physical ailments such as headaches, weight gain and skin issues. Often the typical presented solution can do more harm than good.

In a world of quick fixes with prescription drugs and escapism with alcohol it can be hard to see through the mask of corruption associated with it. There are ways to break the mold. You can be healed and you can do it with alternative methods.

A fantastic example lays in methods coached by expert Tess Ghilaga. Recently, the instructor hosted a workshop at Bowery Yoga that for many participants was the start of a process that leads to a pathway toward a new life free of stress.

The 2-hour session included 1-hour Hatha Yoga class led with an emphasis on pranayama, moon cycle, Ayurveda, anti-aging and hormone balancing.

With over 20 of experience, Tess blends a reverence for ancient traditions and an inquiring mind for the cutting edge. On the mat you immediately begin to sense your body reaching a level of peace and gratitude for existence.

The session continued with each individual in the room receiving a gentle Reiki session that washed away any remaining tension in the body and the mind.

The final step of the workshop with Ghilaga joined forces with master celebrity aesthetician, Monica Watters. She headed up an intimate aromatherapy and Marma Point Face Massage. Use of anointing oil helps balance Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Watters teaches this balancing self-care ritual to relieve stress, calm nerves, boost lymphatic system, relieve eye strain, improve circulation and increase prana.

Practiced with consistency, Marma Point Face Massage improves organ function, heals acne, softens fine lines, promotes glowing skin, lifts and contours facial muscles.
