Countries have a base rental rate that is includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) which is a basic protection for cases of an incident; while in Australia, car rental providers have a standard excess rate of $4000 to $5000.

  1. Use a Credit Card to Pick Up your Car

When picking up your car, you have to use your credit card since some car rental providers double check your credit score to make sure that you are capable of paying any charges. Through credit card payment, you don’t have to worry on passing through the credit check. But also keep note that prepaid credit cards are not accepted by rental services so be sure to stick with your actual credit card.

You’d be surprised that drivers under the age of 24 may have to pay a certain fee called daily underage surcharge in Australia. The rules on age requirement is different for every car rental companies so make sure to double check and get more information since drivers within 21 to 24 years of age may not be able to acquire and rent certain types of vehicles.

Majority of the rental cars come with a full tank of fuel along with the expectation that renters will return it in its same state. You will have to check the rental agreement if there are fees on this before dropping of the car with a half full tank.
