Summer is around the corner. Warm days, crisp nights and beautiful sunsets are in our near future. With these moments of bliss also comes the return of one of the region’s favorite Hamptons destinations.
Calissa is more than just a summer restaurant for New Yorkers to pop in for a quick meal. Rather, it is slice of travel heaven that combines the scrumptious worlds of the beautiful beach village with the blissful island of Mykonos.
Conveniently located at 1020 Montauk Highway in Water Mill is the gorgeous venue that will bring sheer delight to your holiday out east.
Delicious food, superb sips and phenomenal service are only a few of the qualities that make this establishment shine above the rest. To add to the magic are several layers that are rare finds for the Hamptons. Thursdays will feature exclusive winemaker dinners that will highlight the beaches of the region. On Friday nights you will find live music that will start your weekend adventure off the right way. Saturday night will feature award-winning DJs from Greece and Paris. And, on Sundays a special brunch will feature an eclectic Aperol spritz cart and other delights. On top of this expect to find over the summer a pop-up store on the property where local designers will benefit from the shopping extravaganza.
It is truly all of these qualities that make Calissa more than just a summer restaurant. The well-curated venue is a state of mind and a tranquil escape from the troubles and worries of the world.
It is just an added bonus to find such fantastic dishes on top of it. Calissa carries a strong farm to table ethic that features vegetables and seafood from across the region. Presented by an outstanding chef and staff the incredible menu varies in fresh food preparation at your table side to carefully crafted items in the kitchen.
Basically any selection you make will be the right one. The starter salad Montauk Striped Bass Crudo with tomato, ramps, mint, radish and basil is refreshing. The Arugula-Kalamata Fig Salad with honeycomb brittle, sesame, pear and kanopasti is sweetly delicate.
For entrees we highly recommend a divine Lobster Bucatini with bomba calabrese, mint, fennel, and rosemary breadcrumbs. It is delicious and perfect in tone and texture. Also, adored is the perfect Salt-Baked Montauk Fluke presented with lemon and kritiko olive oil.
Cocktails, wines and desserts will also bring much joy to your life including a fantastic Ricotta Doughnut plate served with fresh fig jam and chocolate ganache.
There is simply no better place to be this summer out east. Here is to finding your own bit of heaven at Calissa.
