Happy Father’s Day T2C Style

Happy Father’s Day T2C Style

When a father gives to his son, both laugh; when a son gives to his father, both cry. William Shakespeare

A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child.

Can you guess the Broadway and Off Broadway shows from these lyrics? If you don’t know e-mail us and we will tell you!

1: “We disappoint, we leave a mess
We die, but we don’t
We disappoint in turn, I guess
Forget, though, we won’t
Like father, like son”

2:“He lives in you
He lives in me
He watches over
Everything we see”

3:“That’s what it means to be a father
Planning their future as you watch your children sleep
That’s what it means to be a father
I never knew that I could feel a love so deep”

4: “And as a baby she amazed me with the things she learned each day
She used to stay on the fire escape while all the other kids would play
And I would stand beside her and I’d say,
‘I’m proud to be your father
‘Cause you worked so much harder
And you are so much smarter
Then I was at your age’”

5:“Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don’t remember growing older
When did they?”

6: “I’m feeling happy, I’m feeling sad
A little childish, a little Dad
I think of all the days you’ve known
All the ways you’ve grown
See you on your own, and then
I’m feeling happy and sad again”

7: Now, kid,
You did surprise me though I know the facts of life
Wow, kid,
It terrifies me just to say “my pregnant wife”
‘Cuz kid, I gotta tell ya
I’m not ready, not a bit
There’s this macho act I’ll sell ya,
While inside I lose my shit
It’s not that I don’t want you
‘Cuz I do, despite my fears
But kid,
Is it true you’ll stick around for eighteen years?

8: It’s a three-minute round and you’re back in yr corner,
You’re licking yr wounds just like little Jack Horner,
Don’t let your guard down try a jab with your right,
Or you’re losing on points by the end of the night,
Then a miracle happens, and everyone’s screaming,
You’re pinching yourself just in case you’re still dreaming,
You’ve taken the initiative, you’ve taken your chance,
It’s the night when this pugilist finally learned how to dance.

9: Man 1
Hey billy, my baby
Hey kid, look at me
It’s clear you’ve got your mother’s eyes
But who do they see?
The nurse just called me father
Well hell, i guess that’s what i am
But what makes her thing i’m a family man

10: What he loved he taught me.
Now music’s what I do.
And often when I’m writing,
in my hands, Dad’s there too.
