As we gather for Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends, thankful may not be how we feel. In this rapidly changing political climate, let us focus on the blessings that we so easily take for granted.
I know that this Thanksgiving will be hard for many who feel fearful and vulnerable. Hatred cannot be the common language, especially when we have a bounty of blessings, listen to the cries from beyond our walls. Hatred is running unchecked in our country and we can be the ones to stop it.
We are a people divided. Reclaim what it means to be an American, find inner courage and strength to fight for what is right. We are living at the cusp of what might be a new reality.
Let us turn in gratitude that we are citizens of this nation. Inspire to be the best human being you can be. Truly see the people for who they are, without being clouded with a distorted sense of right and wrong. I pray that we are made aware and are perceptive to the plights of others.
I pray for the self-confidence to truly see my strengths as well as my weaknesses. Let me have compassion.
The staff at T2C wishes everyone a peaceful, healthy and bountiful Thanksgiving.
May God grant us grace.
