Design on a Dime continues today and tomorrow from 10am-7pm at the Metropolitan Pavilion and is free and open to the public. Proceeds directly benefit Housing Works’ efforts to provide supportive services and housing to New Yorkers living with and affectedby HIV/AIDS and homelessness.

The foundation was creaeted in New York City in 2004 by Designer James Huniford. At the time, the event included seven interior designers and took place at Housing Works’ Gramercy Thrift Shop. Now, its’ twelfth year the national event has grown to include over 100 top interior designers and attracts over 5,000+ guests annually. 2015 marked the benefits’ most successful year, raising a record-breaking $1.3 million. Since inception the event has raised over $10 million for the organization’s mission.

In February 2016 Design on a Dime was taken nationally for the first time, expanding the event from New York City to Miami, Florida. Over the last 12 years many renowned designers have participated including: Bunny Williams, Charlotte Moss, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Eric Cohler, Laura Bohn, Jamie Drake, Miles Redd, Thom Felicia, Ken Fulk, and Ty Pennington. Chairs have included: Andy Cohen, Lara Spencer, Martha Hunt, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nate Berkus, Iman, Marisa Tomei, and many more.
