“What is so great about Hamilton is that we will tour 100 cities, small as well as bigger cities. That is why we did the book and the albums so that high schools will want to perform this show.”

Lin Manuel Miranda:”This show took 7 long years, faith, tragic act make you know tomorrow is not what was promised.”

On winning the Tony: “I’ve watched for awhile, I kept thinking about Phylicia Rashād. What would it take, because only one person gets the award. I thought it was a solo, but it takes a team. You need a good people on your team.”

In his fast career rise: “You have to follow your instincts with hope. Somewhere I lost my vision, this show helped me find my direction and purpose.”

Orlando: ” All of this seems silly, futile in what we are doing, then we had a show. Someone spent every dime. Someone spent time waiting  to see this show. We can’t let them take that…that is hope.”

Alex Lacamore and Thomas Kail.

In telling Lin no: “How do you tell Lin NO? Alexander Hamilton was a genius. Trust, faith, no, yes, maybe is not hard.”

In her character being of color: “I never see the fact that I do not look like what somebody expects. I live in the role without question.”

On faith: I have had constant prayer in my heart, not just to get this job, but to hold onto it. What I asked for was so much smaller than what was given. This is the grace of God.”

In passing the torch: “I was one of many Nala’s before me and I was the last Mimi. There is an advantage in being the second, third or forth as you can pick and choose. Any role that is written well can allow any person to play it.”

“I did;t spend the last 10 years praying for a Tony. This does not mean, I am a better actress. I pray about my family. With them I can stand on a mountaintop and talk about a victory.”

On President Obama introducing Hamilton: “The intro to our performance was not fair. The most surreal moment was meeting Barack for a 2nd time. They represent a heart something we really need right now.”

On his music: My band Clipping, you should start following us on twitter really soon if you aren’t already.”

“Busta Rhymes texted me after the Grammy’s. Common is someone I have admired for a long time. Who knew a musical would lead to a paradigm shift.”
