Iris Apfel Is The New Ambassador For The DS 3

Iris Apfel Is The New Ambassador For The DS 3

I had the honor of attending a birthday party for the legendary designer and businesswoman Iris Apfel. She created much of the furniture in my friend Errol Rappaport’s home and his mother Francis helped start Iris in her career. Iris has just been appointed ambassador for the new stylishly chic DS 3. The 94-year-old Apfel supervised the decoration of the White House for nine presidents of the Unites States between 1950 and 1992. She is instantly recognisable by her oversized glasses, bold combination of jewelry and accessories most of which she has designed. Now she is the head of the French campaign “Driven by Style.” “‘Driven By Style’ is a colorful campaign that tells the story of a dream meeting between two characters and the sharing of the same vision.”

In the first ad of the campaign Apfel says in her American accent: “I have no rules – they are just a waste of time. No trends, no rules. “Someone once told me, ‘You are not pretty and you never will be – bit it doesn’t matter. You have style.”

The DS 3 is the best selling model int he DS range and is available in both the cabrio and hatchback model which Apfel drives in the first ad of the campaign.
