ITA Airways Fresh New Look in North America

Published

on

ITA Airways presented its new marketing campaign called “A Sky Full of Italy” to local media representatives and stakeholders during a press event that took place at the Consulate General of Italy in New York. The presentation was held in the presence of Fabrizio Di Michele, Consul General of Italy, Giovanni Perosino, Chief Marketing Officer ITA Airways and Massimo Allegri, Regional Manager Americas ITA Airways.

On the occasion, the Consul General Fabrizio Di Michele stated, “We are delighted to host the presentation of ITA Airways new marketing campaign. Its nonstop connections to the United States are important, as they bring America even closer to Italy and allow us to strengthen not only tourist flows but also economic, cultural and people-to-people relations between our two countries.”

With the goal to become the preferred airline for travel to and from Italy, the new campaign shows how the things that people are searching for when they are thinking of Italy can be found already onboard and how ITA Airways is able to provide an amazing Italian customer experience.

The starting point was to learn and understand what people look for when searching about Italy and this was achieved thanks to the support from Google, who shared key insights from Google Search Trends from around the world and specifically from the US related to Italy.

Visually, the most iconic and universally recognized symbol of where people go to find information, the “search bar”, was creatively used throughout the campaign. So, passengers can find onboard the ITA Airway aircraft “the Italy they are searching for, before they even touch the ground” whether that be food, style or design, and enjoy in advance of arriving in Italy the full all-around Italian experience that they will discover upon landing.

This concept is also expressed in the new payoff ‘A Sky Full of Italy’, also launched with this new campaign.

It kicks off in San Francisco and Los Angeles, where it will be aired for about a month. From September 28th the campaign will debut in Boston and Washington and continue starting October 5th in New York and Miami.

The campaign will be visible on the main streaming TV platforms and will be running on digital billboards in key areas in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, on completely personalized buses in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, on a digital double-sided boat in Miami and, through a significant digital and online presence in all cities.

As a global campaign, it was launched earlier in Italy, Brazil, Argentina, France, and Spain. In fall, it will be debuting in Israel, India and Japan.

With 6 destinations in North America served with nonstop flights – including New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles and the recently launched Washington and San Francisco – the United States is the first international market for ITA Airways and the most strategic one after Italy, as well as the country with the highest number of citizens of Italian origin. Direct flights from North America to Italy are not only means for leisure and business travel but also “bridges” connecting the broader Italian community in the United States.

All ITA Airways flights can be purchased on  ita-airways.com or through the Company’s call center, travel agencies and airport ticket offices.

A Weekend In The Hamptons With Holistic Health Fair, Store Opening, Oyster Farms and Art Party

Published

on

Every weekend in The Hampton’s it’s not what to do, but which to do. We decided to join Cristina G Cuomo’ s Purist for its third annual health fair in Southampton and experience the best in wellness. From top concierge practitioners of Eastern and Western modalities, to clean beauty, sustainability and nutrition, this was one terrific event to attend.

This year’s participants included: Boiron, Ecotone New York, Flyte, Bellantz, Cancer Culture, Rejuvenation Health, reactIVate, STANDwellness, Boxed Water, Biography, Post House, Cocoon and Hive, Mrs Momma Bear Workwear, Juice Press, evolvetogether, Figaro Apothecary, Hamptons Aromatherapy, Tahuu Chocolates, Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Filienna Filigree Jewelry, Rev. Jolene Star and the Enchanted Heart, The Erickson Method, bySILKE, Dr. Lea Lis, and  Happy Coffee by Robert Downey Jr.

One of our favorite things was flyte. I have been wanting to create a floating Orgone and this just may be part of my answer. They also had a bed that vibrated to music and heals, that was highly effective.

I also loved the infra red light therapy by STANDwellness, the energizing clothing by Cocoon and Hive, CBD Chocolates by Tahuu Chocolates. The crystals and healing modality by Rev. Jolene Star and the Enchanted Heart and the amazing massage by Linda. Thank-you as my shoulder was really in pain.

Next onto BIBA’s store opening with Ilene looking fabulous, with the store’s manager. BIBA, has returned to the East End to showcase its collections, featuring an eclectic melange of clothing from both local and European designers. During the years of 1995 to 2010, BIBA held locations in East Hampton and Southampton Village, and has continued to serve customers in South Florida, with a Delray Beach location, ever since. Now open in Southampton Village, BIBA is frequented by celebrities, visitors, and locals alike, and aims to bring a VIP shopping experience to all. Snowbirds can rejoice knowing the store will have locations in both Southampton and South Florida.

John Nicolas, of Mudford Farms in East Hampton Shuckers, grows oysters and populates the waters to clean and make a healthier water and a healthier dish by filtering the water in the biggest way he knows how. Currently incubating about 1 million oysters in this facility alone.

Finally Rick Friedman and his wife is Cindy Lou through a fabulous art party with fireworks, a band and of course art.

A Weekend In The Hamptons

Published

I started off my weekend in The Hampton’s at an event for Hamptons Social Magazine.

Ilene Smith and Roger Sichel

Erika Katz and her daughter

The event was at Zadig & Voltaire East Hampton. The beautiful jewlery by Stacy Engman, was highlighted.

Stacy Engman

We were treated to some delicious ice cream and wine.

Then our friend photographer, artist and festival producer, Roger Sichel had a showing of some of his art at at Romany Kramoris Gallery, 41 Main Street in Sag Harbor. We attended his opening

Roger is prolific in creativing experiences that span generations and genres. From creating one of New York’s first erotic film festivals with judges Andy Warhol, Gore Vidal and Milos Forman to producing rock concerts with the Doors, Four Seasons and Isaac Hayes nationwide, Roger identifies most as a cultural observer and photographic journalist. Sichel has now entered the next phase of his artistic career and is choosing to explore neo-pop mixed media, inspired by his own life, as well as current events, while simultaneously preserving the legacy of his work in photojournalism.

Ann Liguori

Maidstone, The Hampton’s And Norman Mailer

Published

on

I use to be friends with a woman named Beverly Bently, she has since passed on. She was married to Norman Mailer. For years, I heard about the filming of “Maidstone,” that was filmed in The Hampton’s.

Roger Sichel

This weekend when my friend Roger Sichel said he was going to The Maidstone, I jumped at the chance. Finally I was going to be able to see one of the places the film took place and put the pieces together.

The hotel

The restaurant

They filmed in multiple locations. The Maidstone, itself is a hotel and restaurant that defies time.

The Hydrangeas that surround the property

Walking from the parking lot

What made “Maidstone” so interesting was that it was Mailer’s improvisational attempt to blur the line between documentary and reality. Mailer played a version of himself in the film, as a film director turned political candidate, Bentley his wife and Rip Torn was enlisted to play the director’s contentious brother. During the filming Torn and Mailer improved a brawl that ended up to be real. Torn hit Mailer with a hammer. Mailer responded by biting Torn’s ear. You can see the scene here. Part of the problem was a booze, as well as other substances that fueled an increasingly drawn out shoot in East Hampton, as Torn took method acting a step too far. Both actor’s actually had violent natures, which is highly documented.

It was nice coming full circle and seeing The Maidstone of today. It truly was a step back in time in so many ways.
