Jessie Mueller Set For Reading of The Museum of Broken Relationships
Special invitational presentations of The Museum of Broken Relationships, a new musical featuring Tony winner Jessie Mueller and inspired by the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb, Croatia, are set for October 16th & 17th in Manhattan. Music is by Daniel Green, with book & lyrics by David H. Bell.
In The Museum of Broken Relationships, an old suitcase and a wedding ring lead a gallery owner and a wealthy stranger down a path of family secrets and unresolved conflicts. What unfolds is the story of relationships—both lost and found—and a museum that celebrates the emotional power of objects from our past and the compelling stories they reveal.
The Museum of Broken Relationships will star Jessie Mueller (Beautiful The Carole King Musical, Tony Award; Waitress; Nice Work If You Can Get It; The Mystery of Edwin Drood; On a Clear Day…; the upcoming Carousel), Clifton Duncan (Encores! Assassins, “Flesh and Bone,” The Play That Goes Wrong), Patti Cohenour (The Phantom of the Opera, Big River, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Light in the Piazza, The Sound of Music), Jeanna de Waal (Kinky Boots, American Idiot), Howie Michael Smith (Avenue Q, “America’s Got Talent”), and Andy Truschinski (The Heidi Chronicles, War Horse). Featured in the cast will be Brandon Contreras (In the Heights), Jeffrey Doornbos (“Arrested Development,” Blue Man Group), Eleasha Gamble (The Lion King, Into the Woods), Andrew Keltz (The Golden Land), Carly Kincannon (Spring Awakening, American Idiot), Emma Rosenthal (Liberty), Alan Wiggins (The Lion King, Beautiful The Carole King Musical), and Remy Zaken (Dear Evan Hansen, Spring Awakening).
Author/lyricist David H. Bell and composer Daniel Green developed The Museum of Broken Relationships at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center’s prestigious National Music Theater Conference, where it received the 2016 award for Outstanding Lyrics.
