In Have a Nice Day, Tony and Emmy Award-winner Billy Crystal leads an all-star cast live reading of this hilarious and poignant story about a man desperately scrambling to put his affairs in order: to save his presidency, his marriage, his relationship with his daughter – and possibly his life.
This morning, Audible announced that Dick Cavett, Keegan Michael Key, Darrell Hammond and more have joined Emmy Award-winning actor Billy Crystal’s and Quinton Peeples’s Have a Nice Day, a comedic show produced by Audible and also starring Kevin Kline, Annette Benning, Auli’i Cravalho, Irene Bedard, Chris Cafero, Robin Thede, and Robert King. The show will run for two nights only at the Minetta Lane Theatre, Audible’s creative home for live performances in New York, on October 7th and October 8th at 8pm, and recorded live to be made available on Audible to listeners globally shortly thereafter. Tickets to the live Minetta Lane performances are on sale now via ticketmaster: www.audible.com/minettalane.
President David Murray (played by Kline) starts the day in crisis. He’s lost control of Congress, has to decide whether to run for a second term, and his wife and teenage daughter are barely talking to him. What’s more, the Angel of Death has sent a rather inept “repo man” (played by Crystal) who is at the foot of his bed, giving him only one more day to live. Dick Cavett will play the role of narrator.
Additional casting in this thirteen-role production to come. Have a Nice Day will be recorded live at the Minetta Lane Theatre and made available to Audible listeners globally shortly thereafter.
Audible’s previously announced fall slate of live performances at the Minetta Lane Theatre including Patti Smith in Patti Smith: Words and Music, Aasif Mandvi in Sakina’s Restaurant, Chisa Hutchinson (Audible’s first commissioned playwright from its $5M emerging playwright fund)’s Proof of Love, and Isaac Gomez’s the way she spoke.
