Kristen Stewart in New York With IFC

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart joined the IFC for two showings of The Clouds of Sils Maria Sunday January 3rd. The 7:00pm show with Stewart and the Q&A was sold out. So she stayed for the  second showing to introduce the 9:45pm show!  Stewart  has won the award for Best Supporting actress for her role from the New York Film Critics Circle, Boston Society of Film Critics, Village Voice Critics Poll, Indiewire Year-End Critics Poll and was the first American to win the Cesar Award.

The Clouds of Sils Maria is about Maria Enders (Juliette Binoche) who is asked to perform in a revival of the play that made her famous twenty years ago. Originally she played the role of Sigrid, an alluring young girl who disarms and eventually drives her boss Helena to suicide. Now she is being asked to step into the other role, the older Helena. She departs with her assistant (Kristen Stewart) to rehearse in Sils Maria; a remote region of the Alps. A young Hollywood starlet with a penchant for scandal (Chloë Grace Moretz) is to take on the role of Sigrid, and Maria finds herself on the other side of the mirror, face to face with an ambiguously charming woman who is, in essence, an unsettling reflection of herself.
