Longest Feather Boa Brings Rainbow Pride to Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Longest Feather Boa Brings Rainbow Pride to Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

In front of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, the world’s longest feather boa was unveiled yesterday in Times Square as a celebration of gay pride.

Shangela, one of the famous drag queens from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “A Star Is Born,” unveiled the 1.2 mile long feather boa, which is now on display.

In a glittering gold gown, Shangela stated; “Love is love is love and I’m just going to choose love, let everybody live their life as I live my best authentic self.”

The boa is 1,919.5 meters – a little less than 1.2 miles and took two weeks to sew. The boa is actually thousands of separate boas sewed together.

The event was held in celebration of WorldPride and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

The event also marks the beginning of two special LGBTQ+ exhibits at Ripley’s and Madame Tussauds New York.
