Love Letters in a Bottle

Love Letters in a Bottle

Valentine’s Day is upon us. The day of love is celebrated in certain corners of the world with time-honored traditions to toast the beating of the heart.

For many it represents a moment to spend with loved ones over a perfect meal with a glorious bottle of wine.

This holiday Roxanne became the beautiful centerpiece for me at an extraordinary feast with my family. The delightful selection was full of romance in a glass for the couples at the table, while the little ones nestled in the baby kisses of joy it brought.

The grand creation from Villa Il Palagio is part of a divine portfolio curated at the private home of Sting and his beloved wife Trudie Styler. The history of the estate creates the fantastic flavors that are as rich in taste as the legends of the name Roxanne itself.

The lovely fruity notes and sweet spices string together a composition that is like the words of a love letter you must read again and again. The deep ruby red color pounds with strong beats and boldly stands out like ink on a page telling the tale of Cyrano de Bergerac’s unrequited love or a song by Sting himself.

Our family table embraced the sweet aroma of wild blackberries, cherries and spices along with steak and steamed vegetables. It complimented the perfect moment of lyrical tenderness.

Even our youngest dinner guest was able to enjoy the gift from the estate. The vineyard’s owners shared more love for Valentine’s Day with a special recipe.

Chef Joe Sponzo’s splendid shortbread cookies made everyone smile. Our homemade dessert was baked by Grandma and our three-year-old niece. While they were not perfect in shape they were made with love that was sprinkled on top by generations of women in our family. It was a perfectly glorious treat.

It was a bit of art to finish out our night with a toast of Roxanne. Love paints the canvas of our souls with bright notes and bountiful moments just like the bottle.

The emotions this season are so great to share, especially when it comes in a special love letter from Villa Il Palagio.

As stated by Sting prior about the estate, “Il Palagio is like stepping into a painting. And one of my favorite places on Earth. I hope you fall in love with it as much as I have.”

Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
