Macy’s Out Did Themselves

I have covered the Macy’s Fireworks before and this year Macy’s out did themselves. Moving to the Westside meant the press was at The Lighthouse at Pier 60.

This venue is spectacular feeling like an open air loft space. The Lighthouse has over 10,000 square feet of event space overlooking the Hudson River. The guests felt they had room to move and to enjoy the phenomenal show Macy’s put on.

We were greeted with glasses of Champagne and a vodka lemonade spritz.

The spritz sounded good, but I am not a fan of  Vodka, so the fabulous Santiago made me a versions with rum.

The passed appetizers were fresh and interesting

Marinated BBQ Chicken…..yum

My favorite a gourmet pigs in the blanket

Crab cakes

This was delicious and healthy cauliflower bites

Also healthy kale salad bites

And of course shrimp cocktails

As for the fireworks the space has a glass-enclosed terrace that opens up with outdoor waterfront access. My friends from GMA, CNN, Knockturnal, Variety and I took our chairs to that window opening and had the best seat in the house. Before the event we watch the life out on the water and Macy’s getting ready to surprise.

Performing were Lainey Wilson, Luis Fonsi, Tanner Adell and The War and Treaty, who took to the stage ahead of the fireworks display. We watched on Live Stream TV’s, as we ate our meals that came out of three stations plus a dessert station. The performers were just one pier away and the crowd went wild for Luis Fonsi and The War and Treaty.

Then the fireworks went off, but first a drone display.

These really are breathtaking. We seriously were the closest you could get. When we added our chairs to the end of the balcony, we had to tilt our heads and our camera’s back. This first video, I was taking pictures of the drones and turned it sideways to catch all five barges. It is quirky but it really shows you the set of five barges in full display

In slow-mo you really can feel the magic.

Inspired by “Summer’s Greatest Hits,” Macy’s new summer campaign, the custom 25-minute musical score of the fireworks show, missed the mark in being patriotic, however with songs like “Amazing Grace” and “Landslide” it felt familiar. The score was produced and arranged by Grammy and Emmy Award winner Jason Howland, and featured out and queer artists Brandy Clark and Alex Newell. The whole show felt very inclusive.

The show was conceived, designed and produced by Macy’s Studios in collaboration with Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, the show’s 48th edition featured more than 60,000 shells, more than 30 colors and never before seen effects.

Here’s to July 4, 2025 with Macy’s again!

Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe says The 257ft 52 crew Royal Yacht Dannebrog is the mother of all Superyachts

The Royal yacht Dannebrog by H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe

The Royal Yacht Dannebrog: My viking father His Highness Prince Waldemar zu Schaumburg-Lippe always said it is a Floating Palace and a true Symbol of Danish Royalty.

The Royal Yacht Dannebrog is not just a vessel; she is a floating palace, an emblem of Danish heritage, and a cherished symbol of the monarchy. I love to call it the mother of all Superyachts.

Launched in 1932, this majestic ship has served the Danish Royal Family for generations, facilitating official duties, hosting state visits, and providing a private sanctuary for the royals during summer cruises.

Dannebrog, named after the Danish flag, is more than a ship—it’s a maritime ambassador. The yacht’s elegant design, with its classic lines and gleaming white hull, exudes timeless sophistication. Inside, the royal apartments are adorned with exquisite furnishings and decor, reflecting the rich history and traditions of the Danish monarchy.

For over nine decades, Dannebrog has been the setting for countless memorable moments in Danish history. It has hosted dignitaries from around the world, witnessed royal weddings and christenings, and served as a platform for cultural exchange and diplomacy. The yacht’s quarterdeck, with its expansive views of the surrounding waters, has been the stage for official receptions, state dinners, and festive celebrations.

Beyond its ceremonial role, Dannebrog also serves a practical purpose. It is equipped with modern navigation and communication systems, allowing it to function as a floating command center during official visits and crises. The yacht also participates in surveillance and sea rescue operations, demonstrating the Royal Family’s commitment to maritime safety and security.

Life onboard Dannebrog is a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The crew, carefully selected from the Danish Navy, are highly skilled professionals dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of the yacht and the comfort and safety of the royal passengers. They uphold the naval traditions and protocols that have been passed down through generations, while also embracing modern technologies and practices.

For the Royal Family, Dannebrog is a cherished home away from home. It offers a private retreat where they can relax, reconnect, and escape the pressures of public life. The yacht’s spacious cabins, comfortable lounges, and elegant dining rooms provide a tranquil setting for family gatherings, informal meetings, and quiet reflection.

The Royal Yacht Dannebrog is not just a symbol of the Danish monarchy; it’s a symbol of Denmark itself. It embodies the nation’s maritime heritage, its commitment to tradition and innovation, and its unwavering support for the royal family. As Dannebrog sails into the future, it will continue to serve as a floating palace, a symbol of national pride, and a testament to the enduring legacy of the Danish monarchy. My father Prince Waldemar zu Schaumburg-Lippe, son of Princess Feodora of Denmark my grandmother, loved the time he spent on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog and she truly is more stunning then any other Superyacht built will ever be. His Majesty King Frederik, Her Majesty Queen Mary, Crown Prince Christian and Princess Isabella of Denmark are blessed to have the most luxurious, precious and special Superyacht in the world. A Royal beauty and floating palace with a priceless value…

Every weekend in The Hampton’s it’s not what to do, but which to do. We decided to join Cristina G Cuomo’ s Purist for its third annual health fair in Southampton and experience the best in wellness. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe the Prince of AI and the Evolution of Artificial Intelligence Live from Hollywood

Steven Calcote and H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe

H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe at the Television Academy (Emmy’s) Member event about AI

Our fabulous Television Academy Governors Eric Shamlin and Christina Lee Storm (The Emmy’s) invited me to a fabulous AI gathering. What a treat as media producer and member of the Television Academy to experience the newest AI updates AND see samples of productions by the elite panel moderated by Steven Calcote, Partner and Director of Butcher Bird Studios, consisting of Rachel Joy Victor, Co-Founder of, Edgar Dawson-Taylor from CG Pro and Jagger Waters the Founder of WorkFLOW. Butcher Bird Studios in Glendale provided the perfect setting for the event.

My question what makes AI good was unisono answered: Not visible. If you can not detect AI was used it was done right. It reminded me of great CGI when I produce, its not visible and does not flash.

Steven Calcote and H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, the Prince of AI

H.H. Dr. Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, the Prince of AI at Butcher Bird Studios

AI is no longer just a futuristic concept in television production; it’s a reality reshaping the industry from script to screen. Artificial intelligence is weaving itself into the fabric of how we create, produce, and even consume TV content.

For content creators, AI offers a wealth of tools to streamline and enhance their work. Scriptwriters can now turn to AI for brainstorming, plot suggestions, and even dialogue options, accelerating the writing process and providing fresh inspiration. AI-powered video generation can conjure realistic visual effects, animated sequences, and entire scenes, potentially cutting down on costly and time-consuming physical production. Even voice acting is being revolutionized, with AI capable of generating eerily convincing synthetic voices, offering flexibility and cost savings in casting and dubbing.

In the production process itself, AI is making its presence felt in various ways. AI-driven cameras are becoming smarter, automatically tracking subjects, adjusting focus, and even suggesting shot compositions. This liberates human operators to concentrate on the creative nuances of their craft. Editing is also getting a boost from AI algorithms, which can analyze footage, pinpoint key moments, and propose edits based on factors like pacing, emotion, and storytelling principles. The realm of special effects is being transformed, with AI-powered tools creating photorealistic visuals, such as seamlessly adding or removing objects from scenes, enhancing backgrounds, and even manipulating the appearance of actors.

AI’s impact doesn’t stop at the production studio. It’s also changing how content is distributed and personalized for viewers. Recommendation algorithms, powered by AI, analyze viewer behavior and preferences to serve up tailored content suggestions, driving engagement and retention. Accessibility is also being enhanced, with AI capable of generating subtitles, captions, and audio descriptions in real time, making content more inclusive for diverse audiences. Additionally, AI’s translation and dubbing capabilities are opening up new global markets for TV productions.

While the benefits of AI in television production are undeniable, the industry also faces challenges and ethical considerations. The automation of certain tasks may displace jobs traditionally held by humans, requiring a reevaluation of skills and workforce development. The use of AI-generated content raises questions about authenticity, ownership, and the potential for misuse. Furthermore, biases present in AI algorithms can perpetuate existing inequalities in content creation and recommendation.

As AI continues to evolve, the television industry must navigate this changing landscape carefully, embracing the opportunities while mitigating the risks. By doing so, it can harness the power of AI to usher in a new era of creativity, efficiency, and personalization, ultimately enriching the viewing experience for audiences worldwide.

The man of the year for AI is definitely Jensen Huang. The 100 Billion Dollar CEO of NVIDIA. Here his impressive educational background and career trajectory:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE): Oregon State University (1984)
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE): Stanford University (1992)

  • LSI Logic: Worked as a microprocessor designer.
  • Advanced Micro Devices (AMD): Served as a microprocessors designer.
  • NVIDIA: Founded in 1993 and has been the CEO ever since.

Additional Accomplishments and Recognition:
