Michaela Vivona

Michaela Vivona, a musical theater major at Syracuse University began writing music when she was given a guitar at age 12. She found a love for writing music, but realized that writing pop wasn’t what she loved. She had been performing in musicals at 7 and so she combined the two interests. She wrote her 1st musical in 2012. A jukebox musical based off a popular YA novel. The performances generated over $500 for the No Kid Hungry charity. Her next musical, again a jukebox based off another novel, raised over $1,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation. She went on to write a children’s show where she wrote the book, music and lyrics. Once again, the show raised money for the Make A Wish Foundation. Start From Hello, is her first fully original musical and she is very excited to get to work on this story she is extremely passionate about with such a wonderful team and cast.

Start From Hello begins on a summer’s night at a carnival where Alex asks Jenny, her girlfriend of a year, to marry her. After a falling out with Jenny’s not-so-supportive mother, Jenny gets into a car accident, resulting in the loss of her memory of the past year. Her mother takes this opportunity to rewrite Alex out of her past. Diane, Jenny’s femme fatale ex, drags her back into their passionate and manipulative relationship. For Jenny this is the last thing she remembers and holds a sense of comfort. Despite her efforts, it is two months until Alex sees Jenny again. They run into each other at the carnival. Alex learns of Jenny’s amnesia and the lies she was fed. Alex realizes that Jenny is not mad at her, she doesn’t remember her at all. But, is it worth it to fight for a future when Jenny doesn’t even remember their past?

Start From Hello: is part of the NY SummerFest at The Hudson Theatre Guild, 441 West 26 Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues). Performances are July 23rd at 6:15pm, 27th at 9pm and the 29th at 3:30pm. This is an equity- approved showcase
